The CFC Secretariat has provide support for the development of a CFC Framework for Action to define and develop a Child Friendly City. It identifies the building blocks for a local system of governance committed to fulfilling children's rights.
The CFC Framework for Action translates the process needed to implement the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child by national governments into a local government process. It provides a universal reference for adaptation to local conditions.
The CFC Framework for Action outlines 9 Building Blocks for a Child Friendly City, i.e., structures and activities of government which are necessary to engage children's active involvement, to ensure a children's rights perspective in all relevant decision-making and equal rights of access to basic services.
For each Building Block a checklist (format PDF - 115 KB) is provided to guide CFC builders in developing and monitoring activities.
