The Society for Children and Youth of British Columbia (SCY) is a provincial advocacy organization dedicated to improving the well-being of children and youth. SCY provides a forum for multi-disciplinary exchange and action for organizations and individuals working with and for young people. Previous work had defined 17 domains for which key indicators were detailed to guide an assessment of needs. A recently developed toolkit definesindicators and standards for eight key activities a child is engaged in:

  • living
  • working
  • sense of place
  • playing
  • engaging
  • learning
  • moving
  • caring
The toolkit clarifies indicators allow defining the situation at the moment of assessment, based on which attainable standards may be envisioned.

The toolkit maybe ordered by contacting the Society for Children and Youth of British Columbia (SCY).
