The Red Local a Favor de los Derechos de la Infancia y la Adolescencia (Local Network in favour of the Rights of Children and Adolescents) is a consortium established by more than 25 Spanish city councils that actively work in favour of urban policies at local level that support the implementation of the Convention on the Right of the Child. The main objectives of the network are: to promote initiatives aimed at developing people's awareness of the rights of children and adolescents; to support movements and non-governmental organizations that work in favour of women and children’s rights; and to promote children’s participation in social life. The Network works in partnership with the Spanish National Committee within the framework of the programme "Ciudades Amigas de la Infancia" (see "Good practices" section).
