Child Friendly Cities in NL
Inspired by the international conference 'Child in the City' (Brugge 2000) a Child Friendly Cities initiative was launched in the Netherlands in March 2004. A CFC initiative group has been formed with UNICEF, whose members include: VNG - Vereniging van Nederlandse Gemeenten (the National Association of Local Communities) Jantje Beton (a national youth fund), 3VO (a national organisation for road safety), the BNSP (a national association/fraternity of town planners). The group has published a leaflet on the initiative and future plans include a workshop on 8th June 2004 about CFC at the VNG congress in Zanstaad.
