2 June 2025 - The fourth edition of the annual “RIGHTS IN THE CITY” ("DIRITTI IN COMUNE") campaign, promoted by UNICEF Italy as part of the Child Friendly Cities Initiative, has come to an end. The campaign aims to raise awareness among municipal officers about children's rights, on the occasion of the anniversary of the Italian ratification of the Convention on the Rights of the Child on May 27. It was promoted in partnership with the National Association of Italian Municipalities (ANCI). All the Italian municipalities have been invited to join the campaign by the ANCI and UNICEF Italy.
This year, the campaign focused on the children’s right to participate (art.12). The information materials were downloaded by the municipal administrators from the UNICEF Italy website.
The campaign has been joined by more than 270 municipalities and 25 county towns were among them.
Numerous municipalities have organized public events and spread the message through social channels and websites. “RIGHTS IN THE CITY” aims to reach also those municipalities that are not part of the Italian network of Child Friendly Cities. The list of participating cities for the 2025 edition is available here.
