UNICEF Italy renews its partnership with the National Association of Italian Municipalities (ANCI)
UNICEF Italy and the ANCI have renewed their partnership for the fifth time since 2008. The MoU signed in July strengthened the successful collaboration that has been promoted under the Child Friendly Cities Initiative
23 July 2025 - The main actions that are stipulated in the agreement are:
- Promote the participation of children and adolescents in the life of local communities by encouraging municipal administrations to prioritize the rights of children and develop local child-sensitive policies.
- Collaborate to collect and share good practices, promote knowledge exchange, and share innovative practices for promoting children's rights among municipalities.
- Raise awareness among local administrators of the importance of carrying out actions to support vulnerable children living in conditions of social disadvantage.
- Promote awareness-raising among local administrators regarding the UN Convention on the Rights of Children and Adolescents.
- Promote the CFCI's annual awareness campaigns on the UN Convention on the Rights of Children and Adolescents among all Italian municipalities and encourage them to join the campaign.
More than 7000 municipalities are members of the association (approximately 95% of Italian municipalities)
