In November 2025, UNICEF Italy participated in the 42nd National Assembly of the National Association of Italian Municipalities to promote the Child Friendly Cities Initiative
12 November 2025 - The 42nd National Assembly of the National Association of Italian Municipalities (ANCI) was an opportunity for mayors and municipal administrators from all over Italy to gather for three days and talk about the most important issues relating to local public policies. The assembly was opened by the President of the Italian Republic and the President of the Council of Ministers, and numerous representatives from national institutions were present. UNICEF Italy was present at the Assembly and had a UNICEF branded fair stand, thanks to the partnership with ANCI, which gathers approximately 95% of Italian municipalities.
The meeting was a significant opportunity to meet numerous local administrators and present the CFCI by distributing information materials to nearly 800 participants.
During a side event on social economy, UNICEF Italy President Nicola Graziano highlighted the CFCI as an opportunity to support a local economy that pays attention to the needs of child and adolescents.
Recently, UNICEF Italy renewed its partnership with ANCI, to jointly promote the participation of children and adolescents, organize awareness-raising events on the UN Convention on the Rights of Children, and promote child rights among local administrators.
